The Story of the Dress that was featured in German TV :)

Some of you have possibly seen us in German ZDF -TV on July 9th. My family and life in Japan, my atelier and my absolute love for tailoring was featured as a little documentary in the program “Hallo Deutschland!” (I’ll post a link to the catch up TV site, soon).

One of the topics was “the making” and fitting of a wedding dress that I created for Katherine. She was one of my awesome sewing students & and new bride, who asked me to tailor her YES!-Day- Dress.

Katherine and me went fabric shopping together in Tokyo’s textile town around Nippori Station, we talked about details and sketched ideas, I got to know her style over time and had an eye on her wardrobe. Finally we created this dress together and it was just stunning for the day!

See here some pictures from the making and the final dress.

Whoolahoop, you might wonder: trousers?! After the festivities of the ceremony and reception she changed into trousers! I tailored the “dress” as a top and skirt, so that she could change into “perfect to dance”- trousers for the looooong party night……..

Congratulations and I’m really happy that she and her groom and everyone around her had such a great time.
